More than 125 employers are participating in Registered Apprenticeship partnerships with nearly 80 high schools across Iowa in about 30 occupations, including welder, machinist, computer support specialist, nurse assistant and customer service representative. And those growing numbers do not yet include the new Teacher-Paraeducator and Health-Careers Registered Apprenticeship pilots. Employers can utilize apprenticeship to build a sustainable early talent pipeline, while students can jump-start a rewarding career and earn a valuable credential from the U.S. Department of Labor. Please join us for a high school Registered Apprenticeship webinar on Thursday, April 6, from 1 p.m.-1:30 p.m., with Kris Byam, Interim Division Administrator, Workforce Training and Education, Iowa Workforce Development, and Linda Fandel, Governor’s Liaison for Work-Based Learning, Iowa Workforce Development.
