Event Description:
Join ICCE for the annual meeting where we will elect new board members and honor scholarship recipients. We will also be joined by keynote speaker Annette Medlin, co-founder of Membership 180.
Annette will have the following two presentations at the One Day Conference.
"Engaged Boards Are Effective Boards"
Giving Board members a job description and an orientation to service is just the beginning. Becoming an engaged Board of Directors is more than just understanding the organization's mission and vision. It's about knowing "why" the organization exists and being able to articulate that "why." It's about adequate tools for making valuable decisions around the table. It's about making a contribution to the group that is valuable and meaningful. It's about having an accountability to the outcome of service that is personally challenging and propels the organization toward success. In this session we will work on moving your group from "bored" to board.
"Creating A Culture of Engagement"
In a world where everything is instant and access is easy it is becoming increasingly difficult for membership organizations to establish value in a way that keeps us necessary. So establishing relationships and real connection is more important than ever. In order to stay relevant, Chambers must be engaged with their story and connect that to the stories of the members and the community. We must become a "cause" and every facet of the organization must understand that "cause." This session presents a holistic approach to engagement in every sector of your organization: staff, BOD, Ambassadors, volunteers, community partners, and the community at large.
